Value Added IT Services:
Structured Cabling: The five manufacturers we represent give our clients the opportunity to select the appropriate cabling system to meet all budget and quality constraints. Systimax and Ortronics are at the top end of the quality spectrum. Legrand, Brand Rex and Infraplus offer mid-range cabling. The real low end can be supplied through our own cabling system M Connect. This is generally used in factories.
Data Networks: Data Networking can be suited to meet any budget of technical requirement, the choices offered being Cisco, HP ProCurve, Extreme and Foundry. For smaller, lower-budget offices, we offer the Nortel BCM switches and 3Com.
Voice Systems: Mitel, Avaya, Nortel and Cisco are all classed as top-end premium systems. The BT system is specifically for Banks, Treasury and dealing rooms.
Proposals - What's Included: Our proposals will include full details and information required. Nevertheless, the following brief should be noted:
 
Structured Cabling Data Network and Security Maintenance Servers
Structured Cabling: Our cabling proposal will allow for the number of specified points, including any wireless access points, door access control, and time and attendance. We normally suggest you cater for 10% more points than required. This allows for additional printers to be added at a later date. We also advise that additional points be added in the main boardroom to accommodate any possible future requirement for Video Conferencing. It is far better to include extra points during the initial setup of the office. We will also include in our cabling proposal multi-pair cabling to connect to the Tecom Patch panel. All patch cords and a 42 U cabinet will also be included. This will house the voice, data, cabling, UPS and servers in one unit. We will also provide all necessary connections to the Internet etc.
Data Network and Security: We will set up your local area network and any VLANs, VPNs etc., as required. We will install and set up the network access and intrusion detection software, including virus checking. Wireless networks are set up in order to ensure the absence of cold areas.
Servers: We will install and correctly configure the setup against guidelines provided by the customer.
Access Control: We provide independent access control, including the door locks; this is normally a biometric fingerprint device, which also enables the control of physical access security to reside with the client and not with the building owner. Appropriate information is provided to the interior fit out company to allow for power. We take care of the cabling points in our cabling proposal.
CCTV and Audio Visual Requirements: We work with systems from Tanberg, Sony and Polycom on the Video Conferencing front. CCTV is provided through Bosch or ASSIS.
Warranty: All equipment is under warranty as defined by the manufacturer - mostly, 12 months. In the case of Cisco, we advise that Smartnet be taken out on each item of equipment. TSS undertakes all warranty call outs.
Maintenance: As soon as the warranty is finished, TSS will provide the client with an annual maintenance and support contract to cover hardware, software and labour.
Project Management Fee: A small fee is added to our quotations to cover all project management tasks, which include site surveys, attendance of sites meeting with interior fit out company and management of any third-party suppliers. Update reports are provided during the course of the installation, as is a project plan. A dedicated and experienced project manager is allocated to each fit out. The head of the project office monitors the task and is actively involved in all large fit outs.
Meeting the Codes of Practice Set by DIFC and Other Free Zones: We will work closely with the interior fit out company and ensure that the IT installation meets the site-specific regulations of the building owner. Access control devices have to be set at specific heights.
Final Clean-up Invoice: Whilst our proposals have fixed prices, during any fit out programme, there are also a few changes or additions. To speed up the process of getting these changes agreed upon, we can accept instruction to change or add by email, rather than asking for an LPO each time. We have found, with other clients that the best way of doing this is to produce a final clean-up invoice that lists the additions and changes. Each amount will relate to an email acceptance by the client.
Timeframes: We will endeavour to meet the timelines set for the opening of new offices. In some instances, for achieving this, temporary equipment has to be installed, if the selected equipment has long lead times or if there are delivery issues from manufacturers. To avoid this, at least 8 weeks should be allowed, if possible, for equipment delivery.

Support Packages: We offer a wide range of post-sales support packages, including outsourced engineers, on-site engineers, ad hoc support and prepaid hours. Most international companies setting up here do not have the size to employ a full-time IT support person. We provide that person for you - whether you want it for one hour a day, a morning each week, full time or just after hours is up to you.
